A Year has Passed

(A formal symmetrical dodecaverse on the months of the year)

Jan
And Feb
And March are
Cold. April's rain
Is next then May doth
Show her bloom. In June the
Sun the leaf doth bring, July
The birds of summer sing. August
Heat is dry and cruel. Now September
Hot and still, bring all October's leaves to
Thrill. As gold November rears its head, we end
The year in green and red, for all December's white
And cold. The year has gone, November's gold, the
Fall of leaves, October's chill, the still of
Heat September brought, the searing sun
Of August passed, the birds have sung
And summer's done, July was
Fine, the leaves of June were
Green with dew, last May
and April ran
With March,
Feb and
Jan
