Trying

This is an example of a basic informal dodecaverse. A detailed description of the dodecaverse form, with many examples and hints, can be found here.

Trying

(An informal dodecaverse on the word pool "Cloud, Silver, Distant, Way, Lover, Path, Mend, Ease, Night, Silence, Hand, Together.")

A cloud passed by our mountain
And eclipsed our silver moon;
It shimmered in the distant sky
And lofted on its way.

As lovers know, the pale moon's glow
May never light the path.
It may not mend a breaking heart
Or ease a troubled mind.

But oh, the beauty of the night
And oh, the silence still;
With moonlight and an offered hand
Together we can try.
